Listen to Brett talk about IBG’s process:
Andrew Murray fell in love with the emerging Rhone varieties, Syrah and Viognier, in the late 1980’s while traveling through France’s Rhone Valley. He earned a bachelor’s degree in viticulture and enology from UC Davis’ renowned wine program, and concurrently founded his eponymous Santa Ynez Valley winery and vineyard.
Andrew’s focus and dedication to his craft have culminated in what Robert Parker, Jr. calls, “one of the shining stars in the Santa Barbara firmament.” This perennially youthful perfectionist has been named ‘Tastemaker of the Year’ by Food and Wine Magazine, as well as, ‘One of the most fearsome talents in food and wine.’ He is eternally committed to vinicultural “Kaizen’- the unrelenting pursuit of continuous improvement.
Matt has been making wine in the Willamette Valley for the last decade. He was born and raised in Indiana, and graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Biology. In 2005, Matt moved to Oregon and completed a winemaking degree at Northwest Viticulture Center.
Matt also started working at the Great Oregon Wine Company during the 2005 harvest and became Winemaker in 2011. Over the past 10 years, Matt has helped direct the growth of the winery from 5,000 to 40,000+ cases. He currently lives in McMinnville and enjoys skiing, fly fishing, and playing guitar in his spare time.
Mr. Flavio Colussi has been the Winemaker of La Delizia since 2000. He graduated from the School of Enology in Conegliano Veneto, one of the most prestigious wine schools in all of Italy. With his experienced team, he is able to use his intense love of the land to make wines shared with consumers around the world.
Flavio especially enjoys bringing out all the peculiarities and characteristics that the soil in the Friuli region is able to express. The experience gained through many years of work and a strong love of the land he works on has made Flavio a world-renowned wine producer.
